Third fairytale illustration in dutch newspaper.

The third illustration for the fairytale series in De Volkskrant is published in today’s paper. This time an African tale is told (rewritten by Wieteke van Zeil) about a conflict between a lion and a hare.

The illustrations in this series contain clues that point to a particular spot in the Netherlands where one of the original ‘fairytale’ paintings is hidden. The one who finds the painting, wins and may keep the original artwork. But the puzzle is not simple to solve.

Good luck to everyone who decides to give it a try!

The quest goes on!

Today the second illustration of a series of six has been published in ‘de Volkskrant’. The fairytale that inspired the painting is about a peacock that fights with it’s own vanity. The tale was selected and rewritten by art historian Wieteke van Zeil.

Again, in all the illustrations clues are hidden that point to a particular spot in the Netherlands. On this location one of the original ‘fairytale’ paintings is hidden. The one who finds the painting, wins and may keep the original artwork. But the puzzle is not simple to solve. And the solution can only be found by closely examining all the 6 illustrations.

So four more illustrations will follow, one every coming Friday.
Good luck to everyone who decides to give it a try!

Find and win an original painting!

Starting this Friday, dutch newspaper ‘de Volkskrant’ will publish one fairytale a week in it’s cultural section ‘V’. Each tale originates in a different culture and will contain a moral that still has actual value. Art historian Wieteke van Zeil selected and rewrote the tales. They will be accompanied by a painting by the hand of Deleo. In total six fairytales and illustrations will be published in one-and-a-half month.

In all the illustrations clues are hidden that point to a particular spot in the Netherlands. On this location one of the original ‘fairytale’ paintings is hidden. The one who finds the painting, wins and may keep the original artwork. However, the puzzle is not simple to solve and the solution can only be found by closely examining all the 6 illustrations.

Good luck to everyone who decides to give it a try!

Straight from the jungle to the art fair.

Today a broad selection of recently discovered Terra Ultima specimen was relocated to Amsterdam for a display at the KunstRAI art fair. The transportation was handled with great care and we are happy to say that all species arrived in ultimate health and condition. They will remain at the fair until Sunday, June 5. We hope a suitable habitat will be found for each of them. Preferably one were they’ll be able to flourish and possibly multiply.

The fragile Sheen Green Harefly (Libellula lagoformosa) is carefully placed in the temporary transportation unit.
